Cyclone Hockey Camps Initiation & Tyke Camp – July 13 - 18 Initiation, Tyke & Mites Camp – July 20 - 25 Points of Emphasis: The week will include, but are not limited to basic skating skills, stick handling and shooting techniques, general rules and small area games. There will be a strong emphasis on making hockey fun as well as learning and improving individual skills. The off-ice portion of the camp will include drills for improving stick handling, shooting and basic athleticism. Team games will be incorporated into the off-ice regimen to help teach team work and sportsmanship. There will also be 30 minutes of daily chalk talk activity where we will try to incorporate some basic terminology into each player’s vocabulary. Our hope is that your player will come out of the week with a new appreciation for the great sport of hockey. All players will be presented with on – ice as well as off – ice report cards at the conclusion of their FINAL GAME.
The Initiation / Tyke camp Week #1 along with the Initiation / Tyke / Mite camp for Week #2 will be for day students only. Each student will receive 10 hours of On – Ice instruction, 10 hours of Off – Ice instruction and over 4 hours of Chalk Talk material. Students will be dropped off around 7:30 each morning and picked up no later than 5:30 each evening. The Friday portion will conclude with a FINAL GAME at 11:30 where there will also be an awards presentation. Parents are encouraged to attend as well as other friends and family members. A short photo opportunity will also be available. Each player will be given a camp jersey at the beginning of the week which is yours to keep. All players will be given on-ice as well as off-ice report cards. |
