Cyclone Hockey School

The Cyclone Hockey School will offer several one week sessions in Summer of 2012. The camp is conveniently located just 30 miles north of Des Moines in Ames, Iowa on the beautiful campus of Iowa State University. Instruction will be provided by coaches and players from the current Cyclone Hockey team as well as other experienced high-level coaches. Only 30 spots are available in each group and they will fill fast. These positions will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT AT CYCLONE HOCKEY SCHOOL

At the core of Cyclone Hockey School is the three pillar of player development. Our player development model includes technical/tactical skill building, conditioning and nutrition fundamentals and mental training (goal setting). Players will see 3+ hours of ice, controlled scrimmages and the fundamentals of the game (shooting, passing, and skating. Conditioning includes a training style emphasizing sport specific functional training which incorporates; strength and power generating from the core of the athlete, speed, agility, quickness, balance, proprioception, and reaction abilities. The camp will also use a variety of teaching tools such as videos to introduce our players to other areas such as mental training and nutrition. All players will receive a Cyclone Hockey School Jersey and a written report of their strengths and areas of improvement.
