Cyclone Hockey Camps
Bantam & High School / Midget Camp – July 20 - 25 The Bantam & High School / Midget Camp
will be for day students as well as resident campers. Each student will
receive over 15 hours of On – Ice instruction, 10 hours of Off – Ice
instruction and over 5 hours of Chalk Talk!
Points of Emphasis: The Bantam & High School / Midget camp will place a strong emphasis on over speed skating with pucks, team systems and concepts, puck protection and cycling, defensive zone concepts and offensive attack options. Off-ice activities will consist of a shooting gallery, fitness training and nutrition, core body exercises and team games to promote team work and sportsmanship. There will be a 60 minute chalk talk session each day to talk about upcoming practices, past practices and basic fundamentals of hockey. Each player will be presented with an on-ice as well as off-ice report card at the conclusion of the FINAL GAME.
Day students will
be dropped off around 7:30 each morning and will have a break after
their PM off-ice and evening game. If the camper wishes to stay and eat
dinner with the group, he or she can do so for $7.50 / meal or $25 for
the week (M – Th). The evening game will conclude at its’ designated
time and parents and other friends or family members are encouraged to
attend.
Resident campers will
check in at the Ames / ISU Ice Arena on Sunday afternoon between 4:00 –
5:30 and will have Sunday dinner at the dormitory. Resident campers
will be under 24 hour supervision of camp counselors and will depart
after the FINAL GAME on Friday at designated time.
